Two November weekdays, with wine on the Monday night

The fair runs on the first Monday and Tuesday of November, weeks before most Christmas markets around Lisburn begin. In recent years it has opened 10am to 8pm on the Monday and 10am to 5pm on the Tuesday.

From 6pm on the Monday there are nibbles and a glass of wine, which suits people coming after work. There is no ticket and no booking: you give a donation at the door.

A Visit Lisburn Castlereagh listing dated 2026 gave Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 November, in aid of NIPANC (Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer). The live list on this page shows the next fair.

Antiques, art and speciality food in the barn

The organisers describe over 50 artisans, selling crafts, speciality foods, clothing, antiques and art. Stallholders are local makers, food producers, artists and antique dealers, so it suits people looking for gifts that are not in town-centre shops.

The stalls fill the restored Georgian stone barn and spread into the estate's cobbled courtyards. The year's charity usually has its own table near the door, with Christmas cards and information about its work.

No form and no price list: how stallholders get in

The fair does not advertise for traders or publish a pitch fee. Places stay at about 50, and many go to makers and dealers the Kinnairds already know, so a new seller may wait for a gap.

To be considered, email the Larchfield events team at [email protected] or phone 028 9263 8025. Send a few lines about what you make, where you are based, clear photos and a link to your shop.

Ask early in the year, not in the autumn, as the November places are usually settled long before. Ask the events team what insurance they want.

Finding Bailliesmills Road between Lisburn and Hillsborough

Larchfield Estate is on Bailliesmills Road, Lisburn, BT27 6XJ. The estate says it is about 20 minutes from Belfast by car. There is parking on the estate.

No regular bus stops at the gate. The nearest train station is Lisburn, about 5 miles away, so a taxi is the simplest way without a car.

A tourism listing has noted ramp or level access, and guide dogs permitted. The courtyards outside the barn are cobbled.

A fair that began in the Kinnairds' own home

Lucinda and Nigel Kinnaird first held a Christmas fair in their home outside Hillsborough, for the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children Ladies League. It later moved to the barn at Larchfield, which donates the venue and staff time.

Each year one charity gets the money. Recent ones include Horatio's Garden, which received about £17,000 in 2021, Dementia NI, Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI, the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation and Riding for the Disabled NI in 2025.
