Summer Sundays on the seafront green
Naturally North Coast & Glens (NNCG) runs a makers' market on the seafront green at North Street, beside the Marine Hotel. It sets up on Sundays about every second week, from late June to September.
Hours are usually 11am to 5pm, ending at 4pm on the first and last dates. Expect woodwork, pottery, art, baking, farm produce and street food from local makers. Dates can change with the weather, so check before you go.
From April to September the Marina and Harbour Road car parks charge 50p an hour, 8.30am to 6.30pm, by machine or the JustPark app. The 402 coast bus from Coleraine stops at Marine Corner, beside the green.
Easter Monday and Christmas inside the Marine Hotel
When the weather turns, NNCG moves indoors to the Marine Hotel at 1-3 North Street. On Easter Monday there is an artisan market inside the hotel, from 11am to 4pm.
In recent years NNCG has held a Christmas market here on a Sunday in late November and another in mid-December, 11am to 4pm. Makers, bakers and food producers fill the rooms. NNCG posts the dates each autumn.
On Ann Street, Yarn, a creative space in the old bank at number 24-26, has held a Festive Frolics Market on an early-December weekend, with makers, vintage finds, ceramics, books and records.
Limepark's Winter Market on Drones Road
Limepark, an old farmstead of holiday cottages at 37 Drones Road near Armoy, holds a Winter Market over a late-November weekend, first in 2026. About 15 minutes' drive inland from Ballycastle, it will open on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, 10am to 6pm.
Over 40 makers, producers and local businesses will sell from the cottages and old farm buildings. Entry is by car ticket, booked ahead, and one ticket covers up to five people. You can book online or by phone on 07759 893673.
The Ould Lammas Fair on the Diamond
The Ould Lammas Fair fills the Diamond, Castle Street, Ann Street and Fairhill Street with hundreds of street stalls, horse trading, yellowman toffee and dulse. The street fair is usually the last Monday and Tuesday of August, with events from the weekend before.
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council runs the fair and licenses the pitches. Our separate Ould Lammas Fair guide has the stall details, travel and the park-and-ride.
The fair grew from a charter of 1606, when Sir Randal MacDonnell won the right to hold a market here. By the 1800s the town held six fairs a year on the Diamond.
Booking a stall with NNCG
NNCG started in Ballycastle in 2012 as the town's own market, and it runs on the same trader list today. Register once on its online form, then apply for each market from nncg.co.uk.
To trade on a street on your own instead, ask the council for a street trading licence: a temporary licence costs £100, and the form must arrive at least 28 days before you trade. Call 028 2766 0233.
